- 10-23-2006 #2I don't understand your question. Are you trying to *install* Linux on NTFS or use Linux to write files to an NTFS partition?

You should NOT try to install SuSE using NTFS format for the SuSE partitions. As a newbie (which you are based on the question), I recommend you let SuSE installer create its own SuSE / and /home partition, and go with the SuSE default, which for now is reiser.

Anyway, assuming you eventually get your SuSE installed and sorted, here is a thread on the ntfs-3g driver.

Good luck. Have patience. The learning road is steep, but ultimately rewarding for most.

I think the question is how do you read and write to your NTFS partitions? Are you dule booting windows and suse?
On another note I dont think any linux distro can be installed to NTFS, can it?

by default Linux has NTFS read support only. but you can write in it through ntfs-3g.
check this thread for ntfs-3g install and setup instructions.
casperIt is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
