    What to do!

AFAIK - everything is done in command line and it doesn't appear that you have done any research at all try to find answer on our own if you cant find answer then ask normally the basics are,

    extract the file
    open it in terminal
    log into the root

    then type

    ./configure

    make

    make install

this should work but my experience is limited to one nvidia driver and mplayer which i still havent got to work right just yet.

Firstly though you will need to know the basics of using terminal.

Here's a general explanation of several ways to install things:

And here's a bunch of introductory material to Linux itself:

Now, specific to SusE: you have this wonderful little application called YaST (Yet another Setup Tool) which has inside of it a program called "Add/Remove Software". This will by default use your install discs to let you install and remove things you want. You can optionally set it up to search the internet repositories (which are much larger) instead. I'm sure someone can point you to a tutorial on how to set that up, but I myself don't know.

Try this thread - It shows you everything. I just installed linux a week ago and I have learned a lot. This thread has allowed me to learn the most.

If you expect Linux to behave like Microsoft Windows, it can be.
