    Installation Troubles

first off, for system specs i have

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Windsor 2.0GHz Socket AM2 Dual Core
ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI

i have win xp x64 currently installed and im trying to install suse 10 on a seperate partition that i created when installing windows

letalone that the partition may be a problem, i cant even get to a screen that lets me address that!

when trying to install suse 10 (enterprise desktop) off the disk, i get the initial installation options screen. i select to install and bam, the screen blacks out, and the cd sits and spins for about 5 min before stopping. according the the novell site, after this initial install screen i see im supposed to then go to a selection screen for partition management. the screen never came back. i had to reboot, which it did normally, back to windoze.

anyone have any idea what is going on here?

    Hi,
Had the same exact trouble. Just follow bigtomrodney's instructions found in the first 'sticky' thread of this forum. Solved my problems just yesterday.

    The problem is w/NVIDIA drivers.

    Hope this helps.

Did you try the "Installation - Safe" setting? Do you still get the same problem with that?

Think it may be screen res problem

try opting for F3 on the boot options before choosing installation and go for 1024x800 screen res.

so i used "safe" settings and instead of stalling on a black screen, it stalled on the default blue novell suse linux whatever screen. so i started over and did it in text only mode. this time it stalled at "configuring USB devices" which i thought was odd. so i guess what i'll do next is detach all those and drag out my old school ps/2 junk and see how that works. oooooh joy
