    First thing i want to rezolve is my volume. This has nothing to so with mplayer. i can open a song in Real Player 10 and it does play but the volume is low and i cant change it. when i move the volume bar up and down it does nothing. i can even mute it and it just keeps on playing lol. also the volume control in my taskbar doesnt do anything. i can move it up and down but nothing. mute it and it does nothing?

    i installed mplayer and all the codecs and stuff. went to limewire and opened a song and it started and said this and never played any music.

    Try a different audio output :
    Code:
    mplayer -ao help
    for more.

    For example, you can try it like that :

    ok man thanks ill try that. hey any also i just ran alsaconf and it ran thrue great and said it was successful. but theres no sound now
