how to change some preferences in KDE

I am using KDE.But i feel not accustomed to it. It opens the file in the same file window instead of in another window for the application; and also it opens a file by one-click of the mouse, and I feel it convenient to open it by double click. So could you please tell me where to change such kind of preferences in KDE? I have tried to find in K Menu > settings > Control Center, but i do not find it.

For the mouse, go to the Control Center and then Peripherals. Go to mouse and there should be an option for single/double click.

Thank you. But I still cannot find options for openning a file in another window.

    Hi !

open any folder. Settings --- configure Konqueror

Behavoir --> click on 'Open Folders in Separate Window'

in control center, look for Mouse section, it should be in 'Peripherals' ( i am not in SuSe box right now ) ... check the 'Double-Click to open files and folder' radio button.

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
