    im about to add my old HD which i had all my music on.Will suse detect it by default or do i ahve to run any commands..if so,what do i do ?

    It may detect it, or it may not!

    If it's a USB drive then you have a reasonable chance that it will work automatically when you plug it in. If it's an IDE drive then you will have to mount it yourself, but, once that's successful, you'll be able to have it mounted automatically at boot time.
