    Multiple monitors

    Greetings,

Linux noob here. Been a while since I have used Linux. (Suse 6) I am a heavy dual monitor user in windows and I am now experimenting with a live DvD Suse 10.01 dvd. I have been unable to find any multiple monitor information for Linux during my vast one day of using it. Any information anyone could share would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks

What video card(s) are you using? One dual head or one AGP and one PCI? Also, if it's the latter, what is your BIOS set to? AGP Primary or PCI Primary?

If your video card(s) were automatically configured properly, you should have a desktop on each monitor. You can check what's happening in Yast. Open Yast, go to Hardware, click on "Graphics Card and Monitor" and play around with those settings, something good might happen.

If you have two cards, you'll have two tabs "Display 1" and "Display 2". If you have a dual head card, look below and you'll see "Dual Head Mode". If there's no x in that little box, that's your problem. Click it, configure it you like, and have fun.
