    OMFG Help Printer please...

Mayday, mayday, I have an issue. I need to get my Dell All In One 924 Printer/Scanner/Copier combo working!!!#@%$.

I don't mean to sound desperate, but I am... even a generic piece for each function would do... I mean, even just the Scanner working is my goal.

My mom volunteered me to do some flyer project for some company of a friend of hers and I don't have my printer or scanner working... if I can at least get the scanner working, I can put my end result on a disc.

Repeat... All HELP to get the scanner part functioning will be of great help!

    ??

SuSE should recognize your printer np have you tried going into Yast and check to see if your printer is there?

I have an all in one , not a Dell because I personally dont like them, but it picked my Epson up fine, lets me scan and everything just from plugging it in, check on Yast to see if it has detected, if it is usb, run lsusb to make sure that it is actually detecting it as a printer, otherwise you may have a driver issue to resolve

Thanks for the help, but I looked into it. YAST uses SANE for scanning, and the SANE Project doesn't support the scanner yet. Also... The printer driver for this hunk of junk is non-existent... not even the generic driver worked...

    Appreciate the input though, thanks.

Just a thought which I had last night

In general Dell printers/cartridges etc are usually rebranded lexmarks

Maybe worth looking for a driver for a lexmark all in one with a similar model number?
