multitasking speed problem
My PC is an AMD X2 4200+, 1 Gb RAM (CL2), 250 Gb harddisk (SATA 300), video Geforce 6800GS. OS: Suse Linux 10.1. But when I'm using several appalications at the same time, my system runs slow under Linux. The system is dualboot; under Windows XP it runs very well. Is there a specail reason for this lack of performance under Suse? Maybe Suse is not a good combination with AMD CPU's?

Yes, I've installed the newest Nvidia drivers. I need these Nvidia drivers to use my two monitors under Linux. Don't know if i'm using SMP kernel (is this the same as 'kernel-source'? In that case I'm using it).
