    Exclamation SuSE Sound Problem [RESOLVED!]

    Hi,

    I posted a thread to this effect a couple of days ago however there were no replies.

    IT IS NOW AN URGENT MATTER.

    I am studying music and I really need this sound to work. At present I only get sound through the left channel of my speakers! I have a stereo recording which I need to finish analysing ASAP and without my right channel I cannot do this.

    I have tried the obvious checks in AlsaMixer to make sure nothing is muted. I have also tried turning off the KDE sound system (artsd?) to make sure that wasnt conflicting.

    I use amarok, but its not a problem with that as the problem exists in all programs, including KDE's sound tests.

    I really really need help with this people, its very important, any and all suggestions much much much appreciated, If anyone helps me to fix this I will be forever indebted to them!!!!!!!!!!

    Many Thanks

    dave

    Have you checked to see if your balance is skewed to the left? There should be a balance slider in alsamixer or any other mixer program. Also, are you sure the speaker plug is pushed in all the way?

    I'm going to keep being Captain Obvious here just to cover all the possible bases. Are you sure the other speaker is working properly?

    EDIT FROM LAST POST::

    turns out this didnt work. while both speakers were now playing, they were still only outputting the sound of the left channel, so my music sounds really really empty.

    driving me insane over here!!!

    help much obliged!
