    some questions about configure files on SUSE

    I have several questions about configure files on SUSE:
    1 I want to change icons for some applications, and I want to add my own icons into the pool of the system, but I cannot find where to put. Because I want to put new icons together with others, instead in seperate places;
    2 Each time my machine starts, there are some usless software starting up. So I want to choose which software running at starts-up. I think there should be a file to change. But I cannot find it;
    3 I want to configure attributes of some software. I think there should be a configure file binded with it. How can I find the configure file of a given software?

    Thank you very much.

    That would probably depend on which desktop environment you are using. Are you using Gnome or KDE or something esle?

    You should be able to do this through Yast. I'm not sure about this though, has been a while since I've used SuSE.

    Almost all configuration files are found in the /etc directory but not all software has one there so it would depend on which app you're trying to configure.

    If you want to remove a program from startup, you can do it via yast:
    Go to Yast-->System-->System Services (runlevel)

    If you want to remove stuff from runlevels via command line, read 'man insserv'.

    You should also be able to put some icons in the various size-based folders (in KDE+Suse) in /usr/share/icons.

    As for your third question, what exactly do you want to configure?

    Question

    How would I go about adding programs to the runlevel? Specifically, I want to add beryl-manager.
