Password Problem
My school issued laptops to the students with SuSE on them. I cna say that it is possibly the worst distribution or OS I have used, but I am having a problem with logging into the GUI
I cannot change the root password (not supposed to or I get in trouble) and I need to login. At school we have wireless so I guess the password is stored on the server but for some reason not storing on the laptop. Pretty lame if you ask me. Even when booting into a failsafe kernel with no GUI, still cannot log in. Any help would be great.

You can get a live cd, chroot into your system, and reset the password from there
