Unhappy Suse Professional 9.1 on Dell Latitude D620

    Hey,
This is my first post in here. I had been using Suse Professional 9.1 installed on IBM Thinkpad R51 which was working fine for me. Recently, I have moved to a new hardware Dell Latitude D620. After installing Suse 9.1 on the new laptop I have been having problems with many of the device drivers. My network card, Modem, sound card etc., are not detected. I am mainly into embedded development and my priority would be to get my network card up and running.

If any of u have faced similar problems and have a solution please help me.

    Cheers,
    Ravi

    Ravi,

The D620 is a fairly new piece of hardware, for which Suse 9.1 does not have all the latest/correct drivers.
You could try to find them and include newer drivers in your kernel, but that can be a long and difficult process.

Why not upgrade to Suse 10.1? I am also using a Dell laptop and installing it with Suse 10.1 caused no problems at all.
