    What desktop environment are you using? If you are using KDE, look in ~/.kde/Autostart and if you are using Gnome, look in System>Administration>Sessions>Startup Programs.

    Man, GUI's are practically the whole Operating Systems these days! What the hell does KDE have to do with startup? Linux is the thing that starts it.

    If you had read the post you would know that scrarfussi is talking about programs like xmms - a graphical application. These are started after the desktop environment is started. We aren't talking about services here.
