Out of the box my Atmel WLB-1402 USB Wifi Card + Antenna gets detected and the driver is installed. The only problem is, what do I do?

So far this is what I THINK, Please correct me if I'm wrong (I must be).

1. Open YAST.

2. Configure network card. And choose "Kwifimanager"

3. Choose "atmel" then "edit".

4. Choose that it is "wireless" and then "USB"

5. Enter my ESSID, Open, type in my WEP.

If I follow that, I click done and Knetworkmanager says "new network device found. now disconnected" and there is nothing about wireless. Sometimes if I play around with it I got "found belkin54g network" and it starts connecting, but either stops at 28% or finishes but Firefox, Kopete and all of those tell me I don't have an internet connection.

Please help, I think my next option is to buy a MASSIVE ethernet cable and feed it through the roof .
