Suse 10.1/ XP Dual boot installation problem

We are attempting to perform a dual boot installation on an inspiron laptop. When the intallation gets to "Installation Settings", it apparently does not see the existing windows OS. Under "Partitioning" it wants to
    • delete partition /dev/hda1 (93.1 gb)
    • create swap partitiion /dev/hda1 (2.0 gb)
    • create root partion /dev/hda2 (20.0 gb) with reiserfs
    • creat partition /dev/hda3 (71.1 gb) for /home with reiserfs

Can someone tell us what we need to do to get the installation to see and keep the existing windows?

    Thank you.

create a free/unpartitioned space for SuSe. you can use GParted to resize/create partitions. during installation, select 'Unpartitioned/Free Space for install'. installer will take care of partitioning and formatting stuff. Dual boot is defualt. dont change anything in 'Boot Loader' section.

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
