    Ndiswrapper... which version?

    Hi,

I'm trying to get wireless internet working on an old Windows 98 computer... it now has SuSE 10.1 which runs very well. But the problem I have is with ndiswrapper...Which version do I download to meet my kernel version?

    I'm following the turorial here:
    http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/lin...ork-linux.html
but when it gets to the stage
    Code:
    make
    make install
it comes up with the error saying that it can't find the kernel version or something similar.

The kernel version 2.6.16.13-4-default. Which version of ndiswrapper do I download for it?

    Thanks,
    Omar

I used the ndiswrapper delivered with SUSE.
To install it go to 'Yast/Software Management/' and check ndiswrapper.

if I remember right I did the following to commands:
    ndiswrapper -i windowsdriver.INF
    ndiswrapper -l
and after this I installed my networkcard in 'Yast/network devices' and everything works fine

use yast or smart to install it. It'll take care of all of that for you. it's included in your suse install dvd/cd's and the official suse update repositories.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your replies.
I found it on one of the install CDs and installed it.

    Thanks,
    Omar
