Log out button does not respond in KDE
Hello,
I installed SUSE 10.1 remastered and everything seems to go fine. When I go to log out I find the log out button does not respond. This is the third time I tried the install. I installed Gnome first and everything worked but the wife didn't dig it. I am now on my second install with KDE.
Your help is appreciated.

change default Desktop Manager.
in /etc/sysconfig/desktopmanager, set value of DISPLAYMANAGER to "kdm"
DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm"
casperIt is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Let me know if I did it right because I am not seeing any change.
I open YaST and hit System
I then open /etc/sysconfig Editor
Expand Desktop
Expand Display Manager
Hilight DISPLAYMANAGER and type kdm
I also have DISPLAYMANAGER_SHUTDOWN as auto

Bringing this thread back to life!
I just installed the new 10.2 and the same thing happened again. In KDE my log off button will not respond. The only way to turn the computer off is to press the button. I followed the suggestions from devils_casper but had no luck.
This may or may not help but when I first looked at the SUSE version of KDE the lizard was missing from the left. I then switched to the KDE version and the lizard was there. Everything works except the log off button.
Thanks,

I tried this and it works:
su -
<password>
shutdown -r now
Now I just need to find the disconnect that prevents the Log Off button from working.
Any help?Linux is numero uno! I have taken up Archery.
