Help with getting DVD writer to work

Hi i run a computer business and just had client request me to dual boot there machine with WIN98 & SUSE10.

The installtion is all fine, but i cannot get the DVD writer to work. I managed to get the second hard drive to work ok, by mounting it etc, but i am not sure how it works with the DVD writer.

I am new to linux and have never had a request for it before, but really need to get this working, so any help would be appreicated.

I did manage to mount the drive once, but even though i have edited the fstab, it still would not work upon reboot.

    Thanks,

If using KDE - run k3b

With my SuSE-10.0 (running KDE desktop), nothing special was needed. I simply ran k3b-setup from the KMenu, and configured my DVD writer. And then I was able to burn DVDs with k3b.

I think you will find the Packman packaged version of k3b runs better than the Novell/SuSE packaged version of k3b.
