Exclamation installed latest nvidia drivers and mouse no worky!

    I'm running Novell SuSE 10.1

I've only been using Linux for about two weeks so forgive me. I've been able to install and configure just about everything that I need to get away from MS!

I believe everything is updated through Yast2. After the install I rebooted my computer and the mouse does not work. I used the ctl+alt+f1 and logged in as super user and tried the install again. This time an errror occurred saying that the program had to build a kernel. i said ok. It said, could not build kernel directory not found. I cannot install the driver this way anymore and when I boot into the desktop I have no mouse.

Can I use just the keyboard to open and use Yast2 to try or what? I'm completely lost here help!!!!!

I also tried xmset after looking at the help menu. that is why i am here thanks in advance

    I'm sorry,
Could you clarify when your mouse stopped working and what you were doing at the time?

I installed the drivers and rebooted the computer to load the 3D capability. Upon reboot the nvidia splash screen appears and the desktop appears. My mouse is in the center of the screen and does not move. I then went into terminal and looked through the help command. I ran the command to try and find the mouse and it says no device found.

Have you made sure that it is not the mouse that is the problem? Have you made sure that it is connected properly and that other mice also do not work? What type of mouse do you have (USB, PS2, Serial Input)?
This will help us mae sure it is a problem with the software. The part about the mouse not being detected makes me think it has to do with your mouse, and that it is just a coincidence that you rebooted after installing a driver. Also, did you shut donw (or reboot) using the command line, or did you just shut off your computer with the power button?
