How to change NIC names?
Hi,
I have 2 NICs. Now, one is assigned eth0 and one is assigned eth4. How to change the first one (now eth0) to eth1 and the second one (now eth4) to eth0?
I am using SuSE 10.1 64 bit.
Thanks a lot!

still not clear
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
This links mentioned that the methods worked for debian and red hat. But, it is not clear to me how to do this in SuSE.
The method I prefer is using MAC to assign NIC name, but, it is not clear to me how this is done in SuSE.

If i understand correctly what u are trying to do u should be able to simply change the names within yast, under your network card settings. Just a thought. Best of luck...
