    WMA Files

I'm a new Linux convert. With the help of the Jem Report I can now do everything on my new SUSE 10.1 machine that I used to be able to do on Windows, except I can't access WMA video & sound files. AVI, MPEG, MP3, etc are OK, I have the W32 codecs installed. Where can I get codecs for WMA files. thanks.

Mplayer can rip wma files and lame can convert them to mp3s. You will need to have mplayer and lame installed before you try this. I used the following script to do this awhile back:

    http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...ert_WMA_to_MP3

Post back it if works, or it leaves you with some files that you need to get rid of or if you have a lot of directories and subdirectories to run it in and we can fix the script to make it better. Also, be sure that you copy one of your *wma files to a safe directory before trying the script on it to make sure it works.
