suse on 64bit laptop

i bought a gateway mx6453 and need help installing suse on it. here are the specs for the laptop http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1157067806537
i'm currently downloading suse 64bit version 10.2 beta. Can someone tell me if this is okay or do i need some other version. I have a ati graphics card and amd64x2 processor.

- 11-25-2006 #2i wont suggest you 'beta' version. its in a test stage and you might get problems with beta. 10.1 is stable.i'm currently downloading suse 64bit version 10.2 beta
there isn't any visible performance difference between 32bit and 64bit versions. check this link !
casperIt is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

i read that 10.2 has many improvements over 10.1
i read the advantages and disadvantages, but do u suggest that i get a 64bit suse linux?

64bit would be the better version for you
- 11-25-2006 #5If you read the thread that was linked to, you'll know that I personally don't think 64-bit is worth your time at this point. I suggest you stick with 32-bit.
