    FireFox Menubar font size

    Hi there,

Well, I've been using SuSe linux for a while now and I've had a couple of problems while using it. But what I am about to complain now is Firefox menubar font size.

Because I was only testing Suse before, I had to reinstall it from scratch since I really messed up with the first installation.

I've noticed that if I tried to run Firefox before resizing the font at the Control Center (well, the default font settings is really huge), I would not be able to do it later. Looks like the first time firefox is runned, it keeps the font settings somewhere and if you try to configure the font size after running firefox for the first time, its font size will not be changed. The same happens to Thunderbird.

The font size was around 14 pixels for menus, and now its 8. Every program had its font size redefined but firefox, that still looks 14. I don't know if i am being clear enough, that's why i'm being kind of redundant.

    Well, any help is welcome.

    Thanks.

Ok knowing a little about Firefox but not much about your problem I would start by typing about:config in the menu bar of Firefox then scrolling down to font.antialias.min. This is the start of all the different font settings. There are a shed load of defaults in there so it may take you a while playing about to sort it.

I don't know if I understand your problem correctly but you can adjust font type/color/size in Firefox by going to Edit --> Preferences, clicking on the content tab and changing the values towards the bottom of the window. Restart Firefox and the changes should take effect.

    nay!!!

he wasnt talkin about the font size of the web pages, but the font size of the MENUBAR in firefox.

Try going to START > PERSONAL SETTINGS
    (or alt+f2 -> "kcontrol" )

look under appearances and themes > GTK fonts or something like that. There's an option for GTK application fonts - currently you have this problem because firefox is using its own font appearances, in this setting page you can tell GTK application to use whatever fonts that is set for KDE

I am at work atm (on windows) so cant tell you the exact step. But look in personal settings > appearance themes > something-GTK-font-thingie

it's a radio button that you can tick to tell "all GTK app to use the same font as KDE apps"

    give it a go

    contd

personal settings > appearances and themes > GTK style and fonts

look under GTK fonts, make sure the first radio button,
"use my KDE fonts in GTK applications" is selected

that was the menu I was talkin about earlier today

Yayyy... Thanks! The GTK thing just worked. The option "use my KDE fonts in GTK applications" was already selected, so I clicked to customize, selected another font size and then came back to the "use my KDE fonts in GTK applications" option. Now everything is fine!!! Thanks a lot guys!!!
