DVD Playback

I had used Yast to install the css library but it did not seem to work. I have followed the instructions above and have almost had a happy moment. However when I get to the DVD tag in xine application I get an error.
From my dmesg log I get (two dvd devices)
hda: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
hdc: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
and then when I do ls -l /dev/dvd* I get
/dev/dvd -> hda
/dev/dvdrecorder -> hda
/dev/dvdrecorder2 -> hdc (which I have made the assumption that I have the sym links ok). However the error when clicking on the DVD tag in xine is as follows

found demuxer plugin : elementary MPEG stream demux plugin
found input plugin : file input plugin
cannot find input plugin for MRL [dvd: / ]
input plugin cannot open MRL [dvd: / ]

Does this mean I have a faulty xine config or have I made a whoopsie?
