    problems downloading suse

I was just wondering. Ive tried several times over the last couple of weeks to download open suse from their site. I've tried, net install, torrent, the straight iso download, the dvd iso, I tried all of these from work and home, It seems that when it starts downloading it's coming down at maybe 15kb/s then that tapers off to zero within a couple of min. Is this just me? or is this their way to get you to buy their cds?

    thanks for the help,

    Jason

More than likely your download problems are due to the new version (10.2) having just come out. Download speeds are usually dismal the first week or two due to the servers getting hammered. It will get better. If you just don't want to wait there are a few places online that will sell you a DVD for quite cheap (around $5USD-10USD). LinuxISO is one I've used before but I think their site is down today. OSDisc.com is good too:

Thanks for the info, I didn't realize that 10.2 had just come out. I've been using debian, and I thought I'd give suse a try for giggles, I've heard a few good things.

    thanks again,

    Jason

10.2 comes out this Thursday (Dec. 7). I assume you are trying to download 10.1 and if so, it may be a problem with the mirror.

You're right, I misread the release announcement.
