    Interesting peice of reading!

I am having the problem that, i want to partician suse onto an external hard drive.

During my first ever installation attempt , there were various options for a partician, but the external harddrive wasnt even there.

    Why wasnt it recognised?
You'll have better luck getting an answer to your question by starting a new thread in the SuSE forum with a descriptive title rather than posting it in a sticky.

EDIT: I see that you have done that. Sorry about that.

    Docter_D,
since you are already using Linux, to check the md5sum of the iso compare the output of
    Code:
    md5sum /path_to_iso
against the md5sum on SUSE's website.

As for burning it, well you could use k3b or growisofs etc...
Life is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.
