Amarok doesnt play mp3 files

Hello, i try to play mp3 file in amarok
i added the repos from packman with Yast and download the w32codec packages
Before Amarok sent me a error message and now it only stay blocked
What can i do to resolve this problem?? whats more i need some help to play mpg videos with kaffeine, it only play avi without sound.

Many of us use the xine engine with Amarok. That means you need the Packman libxine1 (and various sub packages). I also recommend the packman "mad" and "lame" and "mpg321" (or "mpg123" - typically my selection of which is dependency driven).

Once you can play mp3 with "xine", then switch your Amarok engine to "xine". Also, guru has an improved version of Amarok over the Packman version. But you still need the Packman packages I noted, if you want mp3 capabilities with Guru's packaged Amarok.
