    Question Installing Programs

HI, I have been following your direction oh how to install a file. I have SuSE Linux 10.0. and I am trying to install an update for firefox. I get to the point where I should enter
    more install
    ./configure
    .
    .
    .

but I dont get past the more install part, when i enter the more install command it says:

    linux:/home/felthauser/Documents # cd firefox
    linux:/home/felthauser/Documents/firefox # more install
install: No such file or directory
    linux:/home/felthauser/Documents/firefox #

do I just have to go and make an install file?

Check this thread for how to install software on Linux. Usually, the easiest way is with a package manager but SuSE's is flaky at best so many SuSE users like to install Smart to be the primary method of installing software. Here are some instructions from the SuSE wiki on how to get it going on SuSE.

you dont have to configure or install anything for FireFox. its pre-configured. download latest version of FireFox from here. right click on downloaded file and select 'Extract here'. this will create a folder 'firefox' at same location. open this folder and look for file 'firefox'. double click on it. FireFox 2 window will pop up.
create symlink of 'firefox' file on Desktop or/and in Menu.

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
