    Format linux hard disk

    I want to erase my current installation of SuSE 10.1 and start with a fresh install of 10.2. Can anyone give me info on how to erase/format the disk? The only thing i could find was to use

    Code:
    shred -vfz -n 100 /dev/hda
    to completely clean the disk.

    You should just be able to pop the install disc in and when you get to the partition section of the installer, tell it to write the installation over your current one.
