check the 'Section Monitor' in /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
    Code:
    Section "Monitor"
    	Identifier	"Generic Monitor"
    	Option "DPMS"
    	HorizSync	31.5-57.0
    	VertRefresh	50.0-70.0
    EndSection
HorizSync and VertRefresh rates should be compatible with your Monitor. check your Monitor's Manual for supported rates. if rates are not correct in xorg.file, replace with supported rates. you must be 'root' to edit xorg.conf file.
