    Graphics card and 4G memory???

    Hi there,

I just switched from Windows XP to SUSE linux 10.1. I have encountered the following problems:

    1. when the background is white, I can see that each character on the screen has a shadow with it. especially when the contrast ratio is low (say lower than 60).

    2. the computer has 4G memory, but the system can only recognize 3.2G.

I have tried both 64 bit and 32 bt system. The above mentioned two problems are encountered in both.

The configuration of my computer is as follows:

    Motherboard: Asus P5LD2-VM Motherboard
with integrated Intel 950 GMA Video card
    CPU: Intel Pentium D 950 3.4 GHz
    Meomory: 4G
    Monitor: Viewsonic VA912B

SUSE recognized graphics card as Intel 945G, monitor as VSC Viewsonic VA912-4 Series

Could any one can kindly help me out on these two problems.

    With many thanks,

    Henry
