    Give us some examples of what you installed. If you install an application with an executable then generally you can do an Alt + F2 an simply type in the name of the program to get it to run. If it is another type of package such as a programming language then the situation could be quite different.
    It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

    I installed privoxy to open my provider ports because I'm at university and i can't join in IRC, I installed this program but i can't find it where is :S , if you have any proposition about it plss tell me about it ...

    You need to su to root to run the privoxy executable.

    $ su
    # privoxy --help

    For better information:
    $ man privoxy
