    VMWare Server

I want to move a file physically from my machine to the client. When I attempt to drag and drop a file, I get this error:

    Code:
Unable to open: Virtual Machine "/home/harner/Desktop/file.html" is not in the inventory.
I can't copy text and paste it, either. VMWare will only identify floppy disks (if I had an external floppy on the laptop) and cd/dvd's. Since I dont want to kill blank disks to transfer files under a MB each, I thought I'd try to use my USB drive. I can put the USB drive in and my OS picks it up, but the OS in VMWare does not. I unmounted it and restarted VMware with no luck.

    OS: Sled10
    VMware client: WinXP Home SP1

    Thank you.

Have you check on the VMware boards? Are you sure that the VM is in focus ie the mouse is over the VM window and not over the host Desktop when you install the USB stick?

I wasn't too thorough with the VMWare boards, but I'm about to check them out, now. The cursor was in the host when I plugged in the USB drive. Thanks, though. Any other suggestions?
