desktop on iMac DV
I just installed Suse 10.2 PPC version on an iMacDV. The install went without a hitch until the graphics restarted and the desktop is offset from the monitor screen. There is about a 1.25 inch black gap on the right hand side of the monitor and (I assume) about the same amount on the left side out of sight.
I was able to go into the control panel and ended up opening something called Sax2 (I think) that gave me options to adjust the monitor a little bit. I tried a different monitor setting and played with the resolution a bit to no avail. I also got to a test screen where I could move the desktop a little, but it wouldn't go far enough (still about an inch off). The screen freaked out a couple times so I chose "don't save" and was able to get back to the previous state.
I'm not sure where to go from here. Is it just not compatible with iMacs? Or is there something else I can try. I am not afraid to go into the terminal and type commands, I just don't know what to do. This is an experimental machine, so I'm also not afraid of losing anything here. That makes me even braver to try anything. I can just reinstall if things get too out of hand.
Thanks.
Joe
