    Question Swat

    Hi all,

    i configured samba server on suse linux server(enterprise edition 9). now the problem is i am unable to access swat via web browser from my windows machine which is in the network. but the same is working from linux server (i.e samba server) using http://localhost:901

    Plz help me.

    Rao,

    I believe that "localhost" always refers to the machine you are currently on, therefore, in order to point to the linus machine, you would have to say something like http://192.168.1.101:901 or, instead of the IP address, the name of your linux machine.

    Not sure, but I think so...

    Exclamation Swat

    Hi all,

    i did the same thing i.e http://172.72.100:165:901 in browser but there is no result here 172.72.100.165 is linux server ip address.

    help me in enableing the swat hence i can access from windows machines.

    OK. Again, not sure this should work from a Windows machine, but I see that the syntax you posted is not correct. You wrote: http://172.72.100:165:901. If the address is correct, it should read: http://172.72.100.165:901. You used a colon between the 3rd and 4th fields - it should be a period.

    If that doesn't work, I don't know enough to help you.

    I don't know if SWAT can be accessed over the network, one thing you could try is allow port 901 through on the server's firewall.

    Other than that, try Webmin which can be accessed over network to configure servers.
