Suse 9.2 no longer allows me to use rpm

Alrighty, so the problem here is twofold. I'm trying to install LimeWire, from the cute little rpm they have on their website. I got the dependecy it told me I needed, but then when I attempted to rpm it again, it told me this:
    Code:
    Elysium@Persephone:~> rpm -i LimeWireLinux.rpm
error: cannot get exclusive lock on /var/lib/rpm/Packages
error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Operation not permitted (1)
error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm
So, I decided to try it as su, rather than an individual user account. And, it ran it like it was supposed to, but the folder that I think it was supposed to create is not present.(sorry if that sounds confusing. I did it as su in ym home directory, but it never created the LimeWireLinux folder my past experience, and the limewire installation guide told me I could expect.)

This is problematic, as I need to, you know, run things in the folder to get it to finish installing. So, if anyone could explain to me the problem with rpm as a normal user, or where the hell it would have stuck the folder, I would be eternally grateful.
