Internet settings via Broadband

Hi,

I have just installed SuSe on to my PC. Having trouble configuring my internet. I am using a Broadband connection with an Ethernet (LAN card).

Can you please let me know, where all do I need to configure the settings?

I am a newbie to Linux, hence, would seek a detailed approach.

just to add something more.....

after installing the settings, I tried to connect to the net....i get the message as 'Connection timed Out'

What can be the issue?

What make/model of modem are you using? What make/model is your Ethernet card? Who is your ISP? Are you using a static IP address or dynamic IP address with your ISP? Is this a single workstation directly connected to the modem or a client workstation connected in a LAN using a router? Are you trying to set-up a wireless network? What version of SUSE Linux are you using?
