Hey people,

R&D have just decided to move our systems over from red hate to SuSE 9.1. Anyway, what we do is install SuSE via FTP. This works ok from any SuSE FTP server that we have found. Now this is where the trouble begins...

We try to perform Online Software Updates via Yast.
At the moment I am trying to use a server from our head office in Malaysa, but we have tried many many different servers from around the world. After running the online updates we restart the machine and come up with our problem.

After rebooting the system cannot find the root partition, booting through a rescue disk works fine though. Re-installing/repairing of grub didn't seem to have much of an effect either.

I have even tried editting the kernel and changing what hdd modules are loaded. But once again this has not made any difference.

Your help on this would be greatly appreciated,
I have taken a picture of the screen that appears with the error whilst trying to boot after the online updates have been performed but could not see a way of adding it, without putting it on the web

Thanks
Daza
