Dual Boot Windows XP, and Suse 10.2
Having used "Windows", in its various forms for more years than is polite to mention, and getting more and more disillusioned with MS all the time, I have finally decided to take the plunge, and move to Linux.
Research leads me to believe that Suse is the ideal choice for me (Having had a brief look at "Ubuntu").
One of the reasons I chose Suse, is it's ability to detect, and auto mount NTFS drives at install stage.
I have several hard drives in my box, so having emptied one ("D" in Windows) I installed Suse 10.2. Successful to the restart stage, then I am faced with a Grub error 22.
Booting from a "live" Ubuntu disk, I managed to recover my mbr for windows.
Booting from Suse disk, this time I choose to install to a SCSI drive, rather than IDE, with the same result.
Physically disconnect all drives other than the SCSI, reinstall, and success!!
Reconnect all other drives, and of course Windows boots. Use "Super Grub Boot Disk", and I can boot either drive, but this is not how I want to do it.
Clean down, try again, and the same error. Not knowing anything (yet) about how Linux works, I am at a loss. I know I will need to configure Grub conf, because the Suse installation appears to be writing it incorrectly. I can access the "Linux" drive through "Windows", and can edit the files if required, but am not sure which one(s), or what editing is required.
Another option would be a utility that will detect installed (bootable) drives, and writes a boot loader, either way would be good.
I would really appreciate any help

add an entry for Windows in GRUB ( boot loader ) of Linux. check this link for instructions.
CasperIt is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
