10.2 [Out of Memory: Kill process 2]

I am attempting to install SUSE 10.2. I downloaded the mini CD from mirrors.kernel.org. After I click installation on the first screen I get the SUSE icon and a small message underneath it that says press ESC for details. The following message fills the screen when I press ESC.

Out of Memory: Kill process 2 (migration/0) score 0 and children

The machine is a Gateway SOLO 2500 laptop. P-II 300mHz with 256MB of RAM and a 5GB hard drive.

    Can anyone help with this?

You ain't got enough RAM my friend, that what that error is telling you. SuSe 10.1 and above needs 512 RAM minimum.

Try 10.0 instead, my machine has 256 RAM and 10.0 runs on it.

    Best of luck,

    Martin
