Post Switching from Fedora to openSUSE.

I have a question... what is everyones thoughts on Fedora Core, and is SUSE in your minds a better more stable choice... I am thinking of switching, and just want some other opinions, before backing my data up and going through with the whole process.

basically is it easier to set up and get full functionality than that of Fedora?

A lot of what I have been reading online about comparisons say they are somewhat the same although SUSE has better support for multimedia.

But what about with printer drivers? say for a Lexmark Z715? or is that more a Lexmark issue rather than the OS?

    Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind that asking questions like "which is *better*" or "which is more stable" will get you opinions only. There is no scientific way for us to predict which version of Linux will work better for you. Trying it is pretty much the only way for you to tell.

Again, "easier" is relative. You're going to run into the same problems with any Linux distribution more than likely. Not all Linux distributions include MP3, MPG, WMV, or DVD support out of the box (90% or so do not, actually). If you have a particular piece of hardware (such as your printer) that isn't supported in Fedora it's not likely to be supported in SuSE either.

Define "support". All Linux distributions "support" multimedia. What you seem to want is "out of the box playback", which few Linuxes offer.

According to LinuxPrinting.org, the Lexmark Z515 and Z735 are not supported. The Z715 is not listed, but I assume shares the same fate:
