You need to enable it in gnome-control-center. If you are using an ATI or nVidia graphics card you will probably need to install seperate drivers first. Try enabling it in the control center as mentioned above, it will tell you what you need.

Installing NVIDIA Drivers
I follow those instructions on installing NIVDIA Drivers and get up to where it says:
Next, we need to change directories to where we downloaded the NVidia drivers. Keep in mind that you are now root, so you cannot just do a simple "cd ~" and expect to get to your user's home directory. You have to specify the absolute location where the driver file is located:
Now, go ahead and install the driver. We'll do this with another simple command:Code:linux-lab:~ # cd /home/scott linux-lab:/home/scott #
I saved the file on my Desktop.Code:linux-lab:~ $ sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8756-pkg1.run -q
P.S. When I go to update SuSE Linux 10.1 it says:
Dependency Resolution Failed
Establishing script:libzypp-patch-zmdrestart.sh-2-1533-1.noarch[SUSE-Linux-10.1-Updates]
This would invalidate script:libzypp-patch-zmdrestart.sh-2-1533-1.noarch[SUSE-Linux-10.1-Updates].
Marking this resolution attempt as invalid.

Now it says error: Kernel.h does not exist.
But it does exist then it says something about the kernel again.

When installing the Nvidia driver it first says something like it doesn't find the kernel source so is it ok if it looks on the nvidia site for one. You can select either, then the next box comes up and say OK or yes. If that fails then you do not have the kernel source and you'll need to go into Yast and install it.

Then also make sure xgl and compiz is installed, "yast2 --install xgl compiz"
Then go back and install the nvidia driver. Activate Xgl via the control panel and click on desktop effects.
The howto rong posted though is a good one to follow.

Got the NVidia Driver installed, but when I go to config the files it says:
The document could not be saved, as it was not possible to write to file:///etc/X11/xorg.conf.
Check that you have write access to this file or that enough disk space is available.
Says the same for the displaymanager file.
