How can I change from eth5 to eth0?

I made image of first SuSE 10.2, then restore to a new machine, everything works fine except the network interface name has been changed to eth5 instead of eth0.

So how can I re-config it?

or How can I remove hardware and let SuSU rescan the hardware?

    Thanks.

I ran into a similar issue when cloning a machine, if it's the same issue I had check /etc/udev/rules.d/30-net_persistent_names.rules and see if it is stored in there, by MAC address. I just removed the old eth0 reference and renamed the improper one to the one I wanted it to be.

    Thanks.

That is what I need. Just wondering, how can I remove network adapter hardware?
