Enabling 3D acceleration.
Greets.
I have a GeForce 6600 and SuSE Linux 9.3 SE with gnome 2.10 and X11
I have trouble activating 3D acceleration.
I've downloaded the latest NVidiaxxxxxxxxpkg1.run driver. Ran linux in graphics mode and used sh./driver to install it.
I sucesfully installed it. Afterwards, I used sax2 -m 0=nvidia to activate the nvidia x server.
When I try to activate 3D acceleration, it tells me that I need the commercial Nvidia driver downloadable from YOU.
So I open YaST2, download the Nvidia driver and it installs it (uses something called fetchnvidia.sh script). I reboot, but still nothing.
I've tried mingling with Xorg.conf with no luck. Besides 3D, I also can't activate OpenGL and GLX.
Anyone know the source of the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Suse is telling you to use you--yast online update. click on the online update icon in the righthand corner of the panel by the time. When you comes up look on the left side for the menu of available updates click on the nvidia driver and click install it will download and install and you will have 3d accel.
