I'm posting a problem I had and the solution.

Problem: After upgrading to SuSE 10.2, when I try to run any gui, yast, etc, that requires su privileges it won't accept the root password in the little password gui that pops up. I can su to root in a terminal window and run the command manually and get things to work.

Solutions: It turns out that apparently if you are in the sudoers file then that little gui wants your password, not roots. So entering my password satisfied him.

Later,
Jim.
