Sound/Video not working

Hi, 3 days wit SUSE now, cant seem to get video or sound working, nothing works amarok, kaffenine , real player, i tried to download some stuff from packman such mplayer, and xine, but it didnt work, wouldnt install it said warning, and dependency conflict, so ah if someone could help, i think i need codecs but i dunno which 1's or where to get it from, thanks preferbly .rpms at this point but if not i can deal with the other types, plse and thank you, help is appreciated

okay well, i finally got my sound working, in real player, and kaffeine, cd's and mp3's, i can play cd's in amarok but not mp3s, but i dont mind that, but i still have a video problem, when i play mpgs or wmv on real player, it says this player does not have capabilites of playing this file...........so is it possible to play videos with real player?............and on kaffeine, no plugin found to handle this resource, what plugin am i looking for?
