Suse install issue Yast keeps asking for my install disk
I installed Suse 10.2 a few days ago. I was adding other software and installing.
Now for some reason it asks for my CD which is I burned a ISO on a DVD. I have inserted it but for some reason I can't install anymore.
I have looked around to see if I toggled anything which I don't see.
I have tried this a few times no luck to install software anymore.
Weird scratching my head on this one.
Another ? with Yast I have tried in the terminal to apt-get install upgrade.
Can you use this command to upgrade with Suse or do I have to use a diffferent command.
Would appreciate the help I really like the Suse 10.2 so far but this issue is messing me up.
Hopefully I can get a book on Suse this weekend.
Maybe I will try Suse on another unit as well to see if I could get 3d.
I was trying this morning to see if I could install something.
Thanks,

I recommend you take a look at Jem Matzan's excellent article "Hacking openSUSE 10.2" which is found at:-
http://www.softwareinreview.com/cms/content/view/60/
You do not say which motherboard you are using. If it is a 965 then you have the dreaded Jmicron IDE controller onboard which may account for some of your problems. Look closely at the section called "CD not found" error before installation.
openSUSE 10.2 is a superb operating system, the best by far from the SUSE stable so please persevere. It will all come right in the end.
Just one final point for you to note. In openSUSE 10.2 you may have a slight problem adding your printer. Bugzilla has bug number 229231 listed for yast2 hanging in the printer database, usually at 4%/40%.
This bug has now been fixed by means of package/patch:-
yast2-printer-2.14.17-6
Go to http://download.opensuse.org/distrib...rce/suse/i586/
and download the above rpm.
At the prompt do not save to disk but "Open with Zen" and enter the root password.
Install the update/patch with zen installer.
Then go into YaST2, click on Hardware and select Printer, followed by "Add". It is probably best to delete whatever is shown as the default and then add your current printer. Follow the prompts, do a test print and that should do the trick.
Happy 10.2'ing!

I just noticed the subject line answers my first question. Go to YAST > Software > Installation Source and check if your CD1 is listed. If so remove it.

Thanks appreciate the kindness an printer has issues as well.
I also was having issues with printer as well. Shows my printer I will look into all your comments. I do like Suse what I see. Also listening to Novel open Audio on my mplayer.
I will ge there never get discouraged. If you build it it will come. Since Sept 06 I have learned alot from all the support in Open Source.
This weekend I will look further and try a dual boot with another Linux . If that fails I will load to the whole od to the HD.
Thanks,
