I wonder if anyone has any experience with getting sound to work in SUSE after compiling a kernel. Recently a couple of us configured the 2.6.19.2 kernel for use in SUSE, and it all seemed to work ok, except there was no sound.

After detailed analysis, a comparison of modules between the standard 2.6.18-34 kernel and the 2.6.19.2, showed that only 7 of 22 sound modules were installed. During xconfig, we made the appropriate selections, but still dont get a working kernel with sound. The system reports that no devices are found.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
