Access denied on Linux from XP
Maybe this has been asked before but I can't find any solution here.
I have a new Linux box with openSuse 10.2. Gnome
Linux works fine, but adding a new SATA harddisk is giving me a headache.
I partitioned it with ext3 with the Yast Partitioner.
I added the mount point /home/frame/data/audio
I have samba running, and I can connect to the drive from XP, but I can not add any files, XP says Access denied.
The properties on this folder show me the owner as frame (my username) and all entries for folder access are set to Create and delete files.
What am I doing wrong, I have no clue.
Any help is appreciated.

I believe that the samba share has been mounted in a read only format, why don't you look at the configuration of samba i.e the part you've defined the share and set it to rw.
Thats just me

Still no success
How do mean set it to rw. I see following options to configure samba:
The Yast GUI Tool samba server
SWAT
smb.conf
In the samba server GUI Tool I see the ReadOnly selection which is set to No on this share.
I am very confused, which should I use and are the changes automatically used in samba or do I have to restart, and if yes how?
Does SWAT overwrite the smb.conf if I press VIEW?
Now I have a shared folder, I try to Map a Network drive from XP and all I see is the hostname in this case LINUX. Where is my share?
And I can not post the smb.conf file because it says the stick is readonly.
